Did you know that over 95% of flavor is dependent on your sense of smell! Training the nose is the key to unlocking the secrets of wine flavors. The average person can detect over 2,000 smells; experts estimate there are over 200 smells in a wine. Compare that to only four tastes - bitter, sour, sweet and salty- and you can see wine tasting is all in the nose. We will sample 12 wines from around the world and concentrate on how to identify the specific aromas present in each wine.

This is the perfect place for wine beginners to learn about wine and why it can be a life long, enjoyable experience. Experienced wine lovers can also benefit by using this evening to brush up on their wine knowledge and tasting skills. There is always something to learn about wine. The Beanery Cafe will serve an assortment of appetizers with the wines. You do not have to be a member of the Northern Lights Wine Club to attend any wine event at the Beanery Cafe. All wines are served in Riedel stemware. No product purchase is required.
